People magazine recently interviewed the four latest victims of American Idol cuts. They talked to Antonella Barba about her racy photos and rumors of offers to do Playboy. Here’s an excerpt from People.

How hard was it to deal with all the controversy that was going on around you when you were on the show?
It was definitely difficult and it wasn’t how I intended things to go, but I tried to block it out as much as possible and stay focused on the competition. All that other stuff was completely irrelevant to the fact that I’m here to sing.

Visibility is important – does part of you feel that there’s no such thing as bad publicity?
Yes, it’s true that my name is more well-known because of it, but I’m not known for the things that I would like to be known for right now. I wanted to make a name for myself in singing. The pictures that have been released of me – the ones that actually are me – they were very personal and that is not how I intended to portray myself. I’d rather promote myself in a more classy way. And, again, that was private – that was not for the public eye.

Were you approached to pose in Playboy?
I heard about it but I was never approached.

Would you do it?
No. Right now I want to look at all the offers I get and sort out what’s best for me right now. I’m definitely not opposed to acting or modeling or something. I would definitely do pop music, but I would add my style to it – you know, a little R&B-ish pop music, maybe bluesy, jazzy.

Yeah…well…we’ll just see what happens with that Playboy deal when she’s back in Jersey singing at the county fair.

I haven’t watched the show at all, quite honestly, so I thought I would check out some of her performances on You Tube. I could only find a couple but I’m not impressed. And neither were the judges. Antonella Barba has been offered $250,000 to host an upcoming Girls Gone Wild Video. The company told TMZ that that they have been trying to reach Antonella through her family and friends.

They also said they, like American Idol, are seeking “a girl next door, with sexiness, attitude, a carefree spirit, and a spirit that will command the attention of the nation.”

Well, she’s certainly commanded the attention of the nation with a slutty photos that are floating all over the internet. She’s been a #1 search for how many weeks now?

Hell, they could actually make a full Girls Gone Wild tape with all the pictures she has in her collection!

I found this collection of pictures of Antonella Barba, some of which I hadn’t seen yet! She did make it to the next round of American Idol. I’ve paid zero attention to the show so far. The bad singers aren’t even fun to watch anymore because now everyone’s just trying to be as kooky as possible.

I’ve heard she has no talent…singing talent, that is! So I’ll have to watch at some point and listen to her!
